Impact of Yttrium Ions on the Structural, Optical, Magnetic and Electrical Properties of Cobalt Ferrite Nanoparticles
Supervised by Nazia Khatun, Senior Scientific Officer, BCSIR; Dr Mohammad Saiful Alam, NSTU
Yttrium-substituted cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) nanoparticles were synthesised by co-precipitation, with dopant concentration, pH and calcination profile controlled to isolate the effect of rare-earth substitution on the spinel lattice. The series was characterised by XRD, FTIR, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, SEM and impedance spectroscopy, and the resulting structure-to-property relationships modelled in OriginLab. Research carried out at the Industrial Physics Division, Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), Dhaka.
